Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Alabama Driver’s License
  • Demonstration and record of strong moral character
  • Excellent ability to work with others
  • Good attendance and work record
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to perform several tasks simultaneously
  • Meet background clearance requirements
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Calhoun County Board of Education deems appropriate
Duties/Responsibilities:
    Provide secretarial services for the principal and other administration.Provide clerical support in a multi-task work environment requiring the ability to prioritize tasks.Supervise the activities of parent volunteers, student office aides, and certain support personnel as assigned.Assist with student records as may be required.Train and supervise office assistants.Assume general receptionist duties such as answering the telephone and greeting school visitors.Prepare memorandums, letters, forms, and other material as assigned.Distribute incoming mail, packages, and other materials.Assist with student registration, permanent records and transcripts as directed.Make necessary computerized administrative reports related to attendance, discipline, personnel and grade reporting.Assume limited bookkeeping duties in the absence of the bookkeeper.Participate successfully in the training programs offered to increase skill and proficiency related to assignment.Participate in cross-training activities as required.Ability to keep business and school matters confidential.Knowledge of procedures, practices and operation of a school.Ability to use excellent business English, grammar, spelling and punctuation.Ability to organize and file materials effectively.Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, including clear, polite telephone communications skills.Ability to work effectively under minimal supervision.Ability to exercise tact, good judgment and initiative in dealing with students, faculty and the public.Ability to follow written and oral directions.Physical and emotional ability and dexterity to perform required work and move about as needed in a fast-paced, high-intensive work environment.Other duties as assigned.
Length of Contract/Terms:
187 days / 7.5 hours per day
